Client compatibility list
General
The Linux image used on the clients are compiled for x86, with the latest Linux kernel and X.org video drivers. This means, in theory, that any PC or dedicated thin client running an x86 compatible CPU with Linux compatible hardware should work. In theory. As for storage requirements, the minimum disk size needed for the multiclient image is 32MB, and the RAM needed for a multidiskless client (i.e no disk, only from RAM) is 128MB.
Please tell us what hardware you're running Multiframe on, or just add it to the lists below! We will gladly give you permission to edit this wiki - just ask!
32 MB Flash
The SquashFS client image will fit on a client with 32MB. However, there are not much space left. For Multiframe 5.0, the space will only suffice for installing an RDP session, X session or to run the net radio feature.
Thin clients
These are clients that have been tested in the Linpro labs.
| Model | Disk / RAM (MB) | Works | Comments |
| Compay Evo T20 | 48 / 64 | No | See note below. |
| Fujitsu Siemens Futro B220 | 128 /128 | Yes | |
| Fujitsu Siemens Futro A100 | Yes | ||
| HP T5000 | Yes | ||
| HP TK5520 | Yes | ||
| Teco TR3540 | 32 / 128 | Yes | See note about 32MB Flash |
| VXL Itona TC 3531 | 32 (30) / 64 (54) | No | The 32MB flash drive is actually 30, making it too small for the client image |
| VXL Itona TC 4331 | 32 (30) / 223 | Yes | Same as for 3531, but more than enough RAM to run multidiskless |
| Wyse winterm S50 | 64 / 128 | Yes | Need to set monitor refresh rate manually |
| Wyse winterm V50 | 128 / 192 | Yes | No dual screeen |
| Wyse winterm WT8360SE | No |
Notes on the T20: The model we have tested is an old one with Windows NTe and no PXE booting. After patching the firmware to get PXE-booting (http://www.kazak.ws/evo/), most of the hardware was detected properly, except for the flash drive. As 64 MB RAM is not enough for running the multidiskless image, it didn't work. The models with 128 RAM (or more) should run fine as a multidiskless, but it has not been tested.
PCs
Most run-of-the-mill PCs, being from vendors such as Dell, Hp etc or custom built, should work nicely with Multiframe. But as there are a million different hardware configurations possible, not all is tested. Here are some PCs that have been tested
| Model | Works | Comments |
| Dell Optiplex GX 620 | Yes | |
| Dell Latitude X1 | Yes | |
| HP Compaq dc7800 | Yes | |
| Shuttle X (AMD) | Yes | |
| CINET PC (Pentum 100, 64MB RAM) | Yes | To illustrate the low requirements. This is the one of the first targeted PCs for the 1.0 release back in the old days. |
| Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo (Celeron 2.9GHz, 256MB RAM) | Yes | |
| Noname MiniITX (VIA Nehemiah 1.2GHz, 512MB RAM) | Yes |
